Ron R. Moreau

1937 ∼ 2020

Ron R. Moreau, 82, passed away on April 29, 2020 at his home in Orangefield, with his beautiful wife Jean by his side.

Anyone who knew Ron, knew he loved his land almost as much as he loved Jean. He was the owner and stylist of Ron’s House of Elegance in Bridge City, Port Arthur, and Port Neches for over 21 years. He served his country as a Jet Mechanic in the Air Force from 1955 to 1959. Ron loved the outdoors and loved to fish and hunt. Over the almost 51 years of marriage, Ron and Jean had a menagerie of animals which included everything from dogs to deer. Ron was unique to say the least, but what you saw is what you got.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Merrick and Alma Moreau.

Ron is survived by his loving wife Jean; sons, Keith Little and wife Carrie of Orangefield, Brian Little and wife Misty of Brookland; daughter, Lee Anne Brown and husband Mark of McLewis; 8 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Ron knew many people but those he called friends were like family to him, as were his adopted grand-dogs, Cash, Scout, and Brody.

A memorial service for Ron will be held at a later date.

Elizabeth Taylor may have had Alexandre of Paris, Sidney Guillaroff, Mr. Kenneth, Jose Ebert, and other world famous hair stylists to do her hair, but I had Ron Moreau of Ron's House of Elegance in Port Artur to do mine. To this day, he remains the very best hair stylist I have ever had. He had a special talent when he had those scissors and a styling comb in his hands. And no one could do a razor cut better than Ron. What an artist with a special vision he was. I think he could have been in the big league of hair stylists had he chosen to go that route, but maybe he wouldn't have liked that world. Ron was so down to earth. In his hands, he helped me look and feel my very best. I always felt comfortable in his presence, too, which is important when someone is working in such close range. I shall always remember Ron Mloreau with great fondness and deep respect. RIP Ron! My deep condolences go to Jean Kay, the love of his life.

Its hard to believe that Ronnie is gone. He and I were friends since about the 3rd grade at St. James Elementary School in Port Arthur. I have to say he was my best friend. We spent a lot of time together growing up. I would spend nites at his house and he in mine. We did a lot of fishing, most of the canals and reservoir's around Port Arthur. Every where we went, it was on his motor scooter or motorcycle. Suffice it to say, we spent a lot of time together until we graduated from High School and went our separate ways. We did stay in touch. I will miss him. Hayward Ducharme
