Ronald James Dixon, age 74, of the McLewis community, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 10, 2025.

Services will be held at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, Texas, on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, Texas, on Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Pastor Amy Walker from Faith Methodist church in Orange will be officiating. Graveside will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. A reception following the graveside service will be held at Faith Methodist Church at 8608 Martin Luther King Junior Dr, Orange, Texas, 77632. All friends and family are invited to attend this and share the stories they have of him.

He is preceded un death by his parents, Lloyd and C. Helen Dixon; his son, James Timothy Dixon; his mother and father-in-law, Arthur W. (Speedy) and Emma Burill Turner; and his brother-in-law, Arthur (Snake)(Doodle) Turner.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Emma Turner Dixon; his children, Darrell W. Dixon of Longville, Louisiana, Melissa Dixon Smith and spouse Mike of Beaumont; daughter-in-law, Linda Dixon of Corpus Christi, Jennifer Moore Sisco and spouse Greg of Orange, Britaney Dixon Grantham and spouse Dustin of Orange. He is survived by his grandchildren, Patrick Sons and spouse Danielle, Taylor Dixon Barron and spouse Dalton, Meagan Sisco, Carson Groom, Blake Dixon, and Kira Dixon. He is survived by his great grandchildren, Rhett and Lyndi Sons. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ron worked as a Reserve Deputy for Orange County Sheriff’s Department from 1988 to 1997. When he retired to take care of his father. Ron later worked for the Steel Mill in Rose City for over 38 years. He helped to build the mill before going to work for it. While there he saw many name changes from Georgetown, Cargill, to Gerdau when he retired. Ron was very active in the Orange County Special Angel Rodeo group up until he got sick.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Grantham, Patrick Sons, Aaron Howell, Perry Swiney, Keith Dosch, and Perry Wallace.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Carl Redmon, Greg Sisco, David Dixon, and Dan Harris.

If anyone desires to make a donation instead of sending flowers, please send them to Orange County Special Angels Rodeo at 702 Division St. Orange, Texas, in his name.

We would like to give a special thanks to his caregiver, Kimberly Hall, from Visiting Angels for the care and attention that she gave him over the past two years.

We would also like to thank Gentiva Hospice for the care they provided.
