Ronald Wayne Norwood, 69, of Orange, Texas, passed away on October 10, 2024, at St. Lukes Hospital in Houston. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Jeff Bell. Burial will follow at Harris Cemetery in Orange. Cove Baptist Church offering lunch after.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 18, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Orange, Texas, on February 27, 1955, he was the son of Harlon Norwood and Margret (Williams) Crowder. Ronald will be remembered fondly for his love of family and his enthusiasm for life's simple pleasures. He had a passion for driving, famously owning several Corvettes that he enjoyed taking out on the open road. In addition to his love for cars, Ronald was a dedicated coach for his son's little league team sharing his time and energy to foster young talents. Member of West-Orange Lions Club serving as President. He was a 26 year member of Pipefitters Local 195 / 211 now. He cherished watching sports, proudly rooting for the Cowboys, Astros, and Texans. Ronald also loved to cook, especially for the holidays. That smell of his BBQ could be smelled down the road and throughout the house. Ronald will be remembered fondly for the love he shared and the joy he brought to those around him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Harlon Norwood; and grandparents, R.C. and Adell Norwood, and Charles “Toby” and Della Williams.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Telisa Norwood; mother, Margret Crowder; son, Michael Norwood and wife Meritta; step-son Davian Cormier and fiance’ Jaelyn Dorman; grandchildren, Aaron Norwood, Kaylee Ellis, and Harley Bertrand, mother Crystal Bertrand; brother, Raylon Norwood and wife Sherry; stepsister, Renee Thomas and husband Chris; special friend, Dr. James Jones, Bobby Young and Todd Longron; and other loving family and friends. 

Pallbearers will be Michael Norwood, Aaron Norwood, Davian Cormier, Raylon Norwood, Jimmy Guillot, A.J. Scales, Kevin LaRose, and Todd Longron.
