Ronny Ray “Bugs” Jeans, 75 of Orange, passed away on November 15, 2021, in Beaumont.
At Mr. Jeans’ request, there will be no services held. A gathering of family and friends will be held 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday, November 19, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall in Orange.
Born in Merryville, Louisiana, on August 21, 1946, he was the son of Ted Jeans and Vera (Stephenson) Jeans. From 1966 to 1968, Ronny proudly and honorably served in the United States Army in an aviation unit at Camp Holloway near Pleiku, Vietnam. After completion of his service, he began a career with DuPont Sabine River Works and retired after 29 years of service. Ronny was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, camping, and woodworking, particularly when those things meant spending time with his close friends and family. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy and he never missed a moment to spend time with them. Ronny touched many lives, not just through the positive impact of his actions and the example he set, but also through a combination of complex philosophical discussions and humorous fireside chats that kept everyone laughing with his special brand of dry, subtle humor and razor sharp wit. Ronny will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
As I go down to the seashore
And hear the waves softly moan,
I leave this place called Earth
To form a kingdom all my own.
A kingdom of quiet and peacefulness
With seas of salty foam,
A place where cares are soon forgotten,
A peaceful kingdom all my own.
