Rosita Orta Reid, 81, of Orange, passed away on September 13, 2021, in Orange.
A mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange. Officiating will be Father Joseph P. Daleo. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a rosary at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on August 30, 1940, she was the daughter of Martin Orta and Carmen Fernandez. Rosita enjoyed collecting various items and attending a good estate sale. Her family was number one in her life and made sure to make them feel loved and appreciated. She was an excellent mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all she came to know and love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Carmen Orta; loving husband, W.H. Reid; son, Neil L. Ayers; brothers, Martin F. Orta, Jr., Peter F. Orta and Felix F. Orta; sisters, Carmen O. Huckaby and Beatrice O. Chesson; and grandparents, Luis and Cleofas Salazar
She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Bufford and husband Rickey; grandchildren, Nicole Lecea and husband Arthur, Jason Ayers and wife Emily, Nicholas Ayers and wife Korri, Selina DeRoche, Cody DeRoche and husband Miguel, Derrick Bufford and wife Hollie, Jeff Koob and wife Kim, Jamey McFarlane and husband Rowdy and Justin Bufford and wife Vanessa; 17 great grandchildren and one on the way; daughter-in-law, Teresa Ayers; brothers, Raul F. Orta and wife Catarina, Alejandro F. Orta, Roberto F. Orta, Sr. and wife Mary; sisters, Alicia O. Blanchard and husband Elvin, and Mary H. Grimes; along with numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Derrick Bufford, Arthur Lecea, Jason Ayers, Nicholas Ayers, Jeff Koob and Cody DeRoche.
