Roy Glenn Malone,83, of Orange, passed away on March 16, 2020, at Magnolia Assisted Living Center in Gonzales, Louisiana.
Born in Orange, Texas, on January 22, 1937, he was the son of Hugh Preston Malone and Ella (Peet) Malone. Roy graduated from Little Cypress High School in 1955. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany from 1960 to 1962. Roy worked at DuPont SRW for various contactors through the 1960s and 1970s. He retired to his ranch in Orange in the 1980s and spent his days with cattle, his special grandchildren, family, and friends. Roy loved his family dearly and will be missed by all who knew and adored him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Ella Malone; loving wife, Brenda (Bruce) Malone; and siblings, Lois Ezell, Preston Malone, and Vernon Malone.
He is survived by his children, Missy (Malone) Cognevich and husband Jeffrey of Prairieville, Louisiana and Troy Malone of Orange; grandchildren, Garrett Cognevich and wife Erin, Caleb Cognevich and girlfriend Taylor Rossi; great grandchildren, Ivey Kate Cognevich and Addy Kling; sister, Emily (Malone) Duncan and husband Bobby; and sister-in-law’s, Cynthia Hill Malone Tuter, Mary Francis Malone, and Bonita Bruce Mathews Ratliff.
Private family services will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home.
