Roy David Nance, 94 of Beaumont Texas, passed away on March 28th, 2024, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 Friday April 5th at Calder Baptist Church, 1005 N. 11th St. Beaumont. Burial will be at Clairette Cemetery at 25271 Highway 6, Hico Texas at 3:00 on Saturday April 6th.
Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 at Calder Baptist Church.
Born in Dublin, Texas, on April 24th, 1929. He was the son of Roy William Nance and Mary Alice Cook Nance. David grew up in Navasota, Texas, where he graduated high school in 1946. He signed up for the Marines at 17 years old in 1946, where he was honorably discharged. He then went to Texas A & M where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with the Class of 1951. While attending A & M, he was a member of Company C of the Corps of Cadets.
After graduating David worked for Tom Herring. This is when he started his career in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. After two years working with Tom, he decided to close his business and asked David if he wanted it. David said yes, and in 1954 started building and branding his Nance Companies where he spent the next 70 years mentoring and working with 100’s of employees, customers and vendors all over the world.
He is preceded in death by his Father Roy William Nance, Houston Texas and Mother Mary Alice Cook Nance (Mimi), Beaumont, Texas.
He is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Nance, Kathleen Boles, Tara Holland, Leslie Burkhardt (Jim), Grayson Harris (Pete), Mary Lila Nance, Dana Nance, Lauren Nance, and Christina Russell (Cory). Grandchildren, Chad Holland, Jacob Boles (Johnny), Katy Boles (Chris), Ross Holland (Valerie), John Boles (Leah), Bret Holland, Taylor Knudson, Hillary Villareal (Enrique), Cordin Burkhardt, Cade Carter, Gillian Harris, Isabella Powell, Linkin Harris, and Gabriella Russell. Great grandchildren, Cole Ehrhart, Ford Ehrhart, Avery Holland, Augustus Holland, May Villareal, and River Boles. His sisters, Deloros Wacker and Barbara MacNiven and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ross Holland, John Boles, Cade Carter and Linkin Harris, Chris Ehrhart, and Cory Russell,
Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Holland, Jacob Boles, Bret Holland, Jim Burkhardt, Pete Harris
The Nance family are deeply grateful for the people that have cared for him,
Marco Zamudio, Albina Leiva, Anghilia Kithler, Kenia Sang and Linda Bostwick.
