Ruby A. Denman, 94, lifelong resident of West Orange, passed away on May 9, 2019, in Port Arthur.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will be prior to the service starting at 12:30 p.m., at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on March 1, 1925, she was the daughter of Frank Abrego and Pueblita (Guitierrez) Abrego. Ruby had a very sweet nature and never met a stranger. She was outgoing, loveable, bubbly, and always wore a smile wherever she went. Although Ruby didn’t have any children, she took in, cared for, and loved her nieces and nephews like they were her own. She will be dearly missed by all those who came to know and love her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Pueblita Abrego; loving husband, Bill Denman; sisters, Mary Pachuca, and Connie Sanchez; and brother, Victor Abrego.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Rebecca Villarreal, Juanita Bourgeois and husband Raymond of Bridge City, Lana Smith and husband Russell of Orange, Lawrence Abrego and wife Janet of Bridge City, Daniel Abrego of Clear Lake, Dr. Victor Abrego of San Antonio, Robert Carmack, Jr. of Houston, Christopher Abrego, Jane Elliott of Missouri, Joe Sanchez, Jr. of Las Vegas, and Polly Purcell of Virginia; siblings, Jane Carmack of Houston, Frank Abrego and wife Myrtis of Port Neches, Amelia Lugo of California, Siguel “Sig” Abrego of Orange, Amparo Abrego of Orange, and Delia Villarreal of Houston; sister-in-law, Margaret Abrego; along with numerous other nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Abrego, Lawrence Abrego, Daniel Abrego, Allee Espinoza, Jeffrey Howard, and Rex McCorquodale.
