Funeral services for Ruby Lee McCauley McDill will be held Sunday, March 8 at 2:00 p.m. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel in Beaumont, with visitation from 1:00 to 2:00. Burial will be at Magnolia Cemetery. A former longtime Beaumont resident and banker, she was living near her family in Nashville.
Ruby Lee McDill was born Ruby Lee McCauley June 2, 1915 in Beaumont, the daughter of Bob and Edna McCauley. She was the oldest of six children, all of whom preceded her in death. Ruby grew up in Beaumont and spent most of her life there. She was a graduate of French High School. She married Guy Vernon McDill in November of 1939. She worked for the American National Bank for 25 years and was active in school, church, and community activities in Tyrrell Park. After the death of her husband, Guy, in 1973, she moved away to live near her sons. She passed away March 3 in Nashville. She was a member of Judson Memorial Baptist Church of Nashville. She is survived by her sons, Wayne McDill of Wake Forest, North Carolina and Bob McDill of Nashville, along with five grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
