Ruth Naumczik

Ruth Wiltz Naumczik, 87, of Beaumont, TX passed away on October 16, 2011 at Baptist Hospital.

Ruth was born in Port Arthur, TX, May 24, 1924. She met and married her husband, John while living in Galveston during World War II, where he was stationed. After the war, they moved to John?s home city of Chicago where they lived and raised their two children until moving to Beaumont in 1974.

Ruth soon became an active volunteer in her community. She worked at an area nursing home and hospital, was a founder and past president of the south Park Neighborhood Assn., was office coordinator of the South End Police Substation, and served on the Keep Beaumont Beautiful commission. Ruth was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 4820, Port Neches, TX.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Naumczik; grandson, Stephen Ellison; brothers George, Joseph, Lawrence and E.J. Wiltz; and sisters Irene Nunez, Hazel Forrest, Nella Hebert and Louwanna Fontenot. She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Ellison of Beaumont; son, Gary Naumczik of Beaumont; grandchildren, Stacey Naumczik and Michael Naumczik; and great-granddaughters, Monika and Angelina; brother, Harry L. Bill Wiltz; sister, AnnaBell Urwin, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth was a member of South Park Baptist Church of Beaumont, Tx. Her pastor, Bro. Blackwell, will officiate at a memorial service celebrating Ruth?s life to be held October 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.
