R.W. Stewart, 79, of Orange, died Monday, May 7, 2007 in Beaumont.
Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 11, 2007, at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Paul Zoch.
A gathering of friends will be from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Mr. Stewart was born on January 27, 1928, in Beaumont. He was the son of William and Madge Stakes Stewart. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, retired from DuPont, and was a private pilot. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and VFW Post 2775. Ray and Grace loved to square dance and round dance and traveled frequently in their early years together.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Grace Corkran, of 18 years, and a sister, Anita Whitehead.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Michael Beard of Beaumont and Beverly and Steve Helton of Orange; grandson, Benjamin Beard. He was also dad, granddad, and great-granddad to Grace?s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by brother, William Stewart of Vinton, LA, and nieces, Jackie Ackel and June Hayes and their children.
