Sgt. Ryan Lee LeJeune

1988 ∼ 2016

Sgt. Ryan Lee LeJeune
Sergeant Ryan Lee LeJeune, 27, began feasting with his Viking brothers in Valhalla on July 21, 2016. Sgt. LeJeune, a lifelong resident of Texas, began his career with the United States Marine Corps eight years ago. He was employed as an Ordnanceman and stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Cherrypoint in North Carolina.

His love of the Corps and country was only overshadowed by his passion for music and devotion to his three daughters. Ryan loved to play his guitar, fish, and spend time with his daughters. Whether in Spain, Greece, or Africa, his fellow Marines couldn’t escape hearing him play his guitar, sing newly written lyrics, or beam about his girls.

Ryan is survived by his wife, Jennifer Kelley LeJeune, and daughters, Kennedy, Addalyn, and Londyn of Havelock, North Carolina; his parents, Darrell and Yalanda Berwick LeJeune; sister, Misty LeJeune Hall; Niece, Gracie Bradley; and Nephew, Brannon Tregre, all of Deweyville, Texas; and numerous extended family members and friends.

Due to fire hazards, instead of a traditional Viking Pyre, arrangements are as follow:

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2016, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2016. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn in Orange, Texas.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dustin Hopson, Joshua Hucko, Jacob Hucko, Kerry Jones, Brandon Baker, and Casey Parker.

We will see you in Valhalla!

Condolences

I still carry the weight of what happened. It haunts me. Back then, I was getting ready to transition out of the service. We talked about splitting an apartment together—your counterpart was headed to Texas, and it seemed like life was shifting in new directions for both of us. But then she went through your phone. She read our texts—about partying, the jokes, the dark humor we used to cope. And instead of laughing like we did, she weaponized them. She packed her bags and left, blaming it all on you. My words became ammunition in her war against you. You took the hit. You bore the fallout. You blamed me. I know you did. Honestly, I would’ve too. For a time, I truly believed you wanted to kill me. Maybe you did. But I also know your heart broke when the lies came to light. You were betrayed on so many levels. And maybe—just maybe—none of this would have happened if I hadn’t sent those damn jokes. They were never meant to be taken seriously. Military humor is twisted, dark, sometimes reckless—but it was never meant to hurt you. I’m sorry, brother. Deeply. You were a mentor to me, a role model, a true friend. I didn’t just lose you. I lost a part of myself with you. Semper Fi.

Hello I just happened to read Sgt. LeJeune's obituary and felt compelled to write. Though he died too young (I could be his dad) to lose someone you love - regardless of age - is a terrible thing. I too have lost loved ones my Mom died in 2010 at 71 years old, and my dad turned 77 in 2012 and died two days later. (I also see that he is a guitar :guitar:player...me too!) It is my hope that some thoughts from the Bible will bring you some. Hope, comfort and peace. It was never God's intention that we should grow old and die. When He put Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, he also put before them the prospect of living forever happy and in good health. (Genesis 1:28) Our creator has not given up on that original plan..perfect live on paradise earth...even though Satan, Adam and Eve messed up (Isaiah 55:10-11) The Bible tells us that it is Satan who is responsible for death, and not God as some would tell us. (Hebrews 2:14) Our creator Jehovah God sent his Son Jesus Christ to ransom us from death and to destroy the works of the Devil (1 John 3:8) Jesus said: "I am the resurrection and the life. He that excercises faith in me will live thought he dies." (John 11:25) With Jesus Christ enthroned as King of God's Kingdom, resurrection of the dead - including Ryan - and a restoration of paradise on earth is assured. It is My hope that until that time comes, you will find hope, comfort and peace in these promises from God. R/ Martin SkipperGrumby@aol.com
