Samuel Truett Anderson, Sr., 87, of Orange, passed away on August 5, 2016, at the Meadows Nursing Home in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on January 28, 1929, he was the son of Samuel Wallace Anderson and Nellie (Maddox) Anderson. He was a musician and his passion was playing the guitar. He was a tug boat captain and worked at Higman Towing and most recently at Texas Molton Transport, where he retired from in 1990.
He is survived by His children, Elizabeth Nell Bearden and husband Jim Sharon of Orange, Texas, Benny Anderson and wife Marie Tamez of Maryland, Samuel Truett Anderson, Jr and wife Connie of Ocean Park, Florida, Becky Anderson of Houston, Texas, Wayne Anderson of Houston, Texas, Susie Anderson and husband Buddy Patterson of Nederland, Texas, Shirley Menier of Mamou, Louisiana, John Davis and wife Carolyn of Orange, Texas; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
