Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on March 27, 1951, she was the daughter of Shelby White and Betty Sarah (Creighton) White. Sandy lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to her family. As a Medical Technologist, Sandy approached her career with the same commitment and attention she showed in all aspects of her life. Throughout the years she formed lasting relationships with her coworkers. She was known for her spunk and candid nature. Sandy was always eager to share her wisdom, feelings, and opinions openly. These attributes were a testament to her genuine personality. Her granddaughters affectionately referred to her as “Meemaw.” Oftentimes, Sandy would spend extra time cooking for others. She was particularly famous for her fantastic "Texas Trash" snack, a treat that brought smiles to many faces during the years. Her baking, especially her variety of sweet treats, became a highlight at gatherings. In her spare time, she relaxed under her carport with her French bulldog, Bella. Her talents extended into the realm of sewing/quilting, and gardening. She even took a class with her sister in which they became master gardeners. Sandy joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1991. She served in various callings (jobs) within the church congregation. She was a genealogy specialist which entailed countless hours of indexing and gathering families together. Sandy also served as a temple worker at the Houston, TX temple for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She cherished her church community and enjoyed serving wherever needed. Sandy’s vibrant spirit and loving nature will be dearly missed. Her legacy of kindness, humor, and exceptional culinary skills will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Sandy repeatedly expressed her desire to go on an Alaskan cruise. Therefore, the family will fulfill her last dying wish and take her there.
