Sarah Dunkin McNamara
Sarah Dunkin McNamara, 89, of Orange, Texas, passed away on October 17, 2023, at Bonne Vie in Port Arthur, Texas.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange. Officiating will be Freddy Anderson.
Born in Lufkin, Texas, on February 22, 1934, she was the daughter of Emmett Dunkin and Allie Dunkin. Sarah was a longtime member of the 9th and Elm Church of Christ. She enjoyed going and hearing the word of God. Sarah was devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and loved her family very much. In her free time, Sarah loved working in her yard and making sure it looked wonderful. Sarah had a kind soul and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Allie Dunkin; loving husband of over 50 years, Michael Lee “Mickey” McNamara, Jr.; siblings, Pauline Beard, Denmon Dunkin, Mildred Bealer, Ruth Kirkland, George Dunkin, Mack Dunkin, Allie Ingram, Jo Hewitt, Fara Doggett, Ollie Tharilkill, Dorothy Shofitt, and Harrison Dunkin.
She is survived by her daughters, Charla McNamara and Susan Delarosa; granddaughter, Shea Rhodes and husband Trey; great-granddaughter, Harper Rhodes; sister, Ruby Abbey; as well as numerus cousins, nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of your choice.

I am so very sorry to hear of Great Aunt Sarah's passing. She was such a kind and gentle soul and will be missed by all.

I loved her like my own family. I have happy memories of shopping, spending the night in her home, eating Sunday dinners, and so many more. She had a pure, kind, and funny spirit. M sympathies to all the family.
