Sharon Ann DuBose, 76, of Orange, passed away on May 23, 2021, at her home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 26, at Claybar Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Keith Royal. Burial will follow at Autumn Oaks Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on November 23, 1944, she was the daughter of John B. Elkins and Ella Jane (Chaney) Elkins. Sharon was a longtime member of Winfree Baptist Church and was very active in the congregation. She was a part of the Esther Sunday School, children’s church, bible school, as well as the Ministerial Alliance of Bridge City and Orangefield. Sharon was known for her cooking and always made up the best cornbread dressing. She enjoyed working outside in her flower beds and mowing the lawn. Sharon touched everyone’s heart and never met a stranger. She was a loving wife, mother, and friend who will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ella Elkins; son, Darin Wayne DuBose; and sister, Betty June Richard.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 58 years, Arthur “Wayne” DuBose; daughter, Randi Michelle Fertitta and husband Jerome Fertitta, Jr. of Beaumont; sister, Norma Shepherd and husband Gene of Bridge City; brother-in-law, James DuBose; and sister-in-law, Glenda Quinn.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Shepherd, Trent Cooper, Kel Richard, Jerome Fertitta, Jr., Britt Morphew, and Paul Richardson. Honorary pallbearer will be James DuBose.
In lieu of flowers, a love offering can be made to the Esther Sunday School Class at Winfree Baptist Church.
