Sherri Ann Ray, 67, of Brookeland, Texas, passed away on November 19, 2020, in Houston.
A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 23, 2020 at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery. Officiating will be Mr. Arnold Green and Mr. Chris Eppler.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Vivian, Louisiana, on September 7, 1953, she was the daughter of Leroy Swarers and Betty (Beckham) Swarers. Sherri worked as a florist for a few years but her main job was raising her three children who she adored. After her husband retired, they moved to Lake Sam Rayburn and enjoyed their precious time together. Sherri was a master gardener and enjoyed listening to country music. She was very creative and in her spare time loved decorating and drawing. Sherri was a one of a kind woman who left an impact on so many lives. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Betty Swarers.
She is survived by her loving husband John R. Ray of Brookeland, Texas; children, Shawn Ray and wife Valerie of Spring Branch, Texas, Crystal Fabre and husband Willie of Bridge City, and Jason Ray and wife Amber of Orange; grandchildren, Colby Potter and wife Kaitlyn, Cameron Potter, Colton Potter, Jody Ray, and Ryder Ray; and sister, Kathy Wade and husband Pete of Farmerville, Louisiana.
Serving as pallbearers will be Colby Potter, Cameron Potter, Colton Potter, Jody Ray, Ryder Ray, and Willie Fabre.
