Shirley Marie DeCuir, 93, of Groves, Texas, passed away on April 20, 2023, in Port Arthur, Texas.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 29, 2023, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City, Texas. Officiating will be Reverend Ernie Carpio. Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m., Friday, April 28th, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on August 23, 1929, she was the daughter of Frank and Marie (Dugas) Broussard. Shirley was a devoted wife and mother of 4 sons, Rocky, Chad, Keith, and Todd DeCuir. She also worked as an executive secretary at Levingston Ship Building for several years. She was a devoted member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City for over 50 years. Shirley and her late husband, Allen, traveled with the Airstream Club for over 30 years, traveling to every state other than Minnesota and Wisconsin. She loved her family dearly and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her late husband, Allen; her parents, Frank and Marie Broussard; and her daughter-in-law, Judy DeCuir.
Those left to cherish her memories are children, Rocky DeCuir and wife, Claudia of Bridge City, Chad T. DeCuir and wife, Marisa of Richmond, Texas, Keith W. DeCuir and wife, Terry of Mauriceville, Texas, and Todd E. DeCuir and wife, Tia of Vail, Colorado; grandchildren, Chris DeCuir and wife, Angela, Darrell Trahan Jr. and wife, Jenna, Chad E. DeCuir, Jared DeCuir, Dylan DeCuir, Della DeCuir, David DeCuir, Alan Richison and wife, Lindsey, and Tony Gillis; and great-grandchildren, Bailey Rae and Lincoln Richison, Jayden Alexander Dodge, Kinley Marie DeCuir, Cohen James DeCuir, and Darin Lee Trahan.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris DeCuir, Alan Richison, Dylan DeCuir, David DeCuir, Chad Evan DeCuir, and Jared DeCuir. Honorary pallbearers are Tony Gillis, Della DeCuir, Darrell Trahan Jr., Darin Lee Trahan, and Jayden Alexander Dodge.
