Hello, I am Linda Hoover Simpson, and I just now found this memorial. I live in Katy Tx near my daughter Bonnie and grandson Tristan. I just want to say what wonderful friends Steve and Shirley were to my parents Dick and Sally Hoover. I can remember being at quite a few social events when they were there. I know she is dearly loved and missed.

I am Dick and Sally Hoover's daughter. They lived in Beaumont until he passed away in 2006 and she in 2011. The men were business associates in the stevedore industry and the couples became friends. Steve and Shirley attended my wedding in 1994. They are among the loveliest people I ever met. I was sad to read about her death and certain she is spreading humor, wisdom and joy in some new realm. I am saddened to learn of Mrs. Pomeroy ' s passing. I will never forget you! I remember when you stepped up to the plate after my Mother's car accident. You picked us kids up after school that day. I knew something had to be terribly wrong because it wasn't your week for carpool. When I asked where my Mom was you told me what had happened and kept reassuring me she was going to be okay. And she was although it took a while. You stepped up so many times and not only for me but so many others. My heart felt sympathy and prayers go out to your family. You will be missed greatly! Love Anne (Farris) Roberts and Richard.
