Shirley Jean Salisbury, 86, of Beaumont, passed away on October 1, 2018, at her home.
A graveside service will be 3:00pm, Friday, October 5, 2018, at Forrest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston, Texas. Officiating will be Pastor Billie Harland. Burial will follow at Forrest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
Visitation will be from 5:00pm-8:00pm, Thursday at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont.
Born in Kilgore, Texas, on August 21, 1932, she was the daughter of O’Grady Ferguson and Helen Bernice (Lytton) Fair. She retired as a Teacher’s Aide with B.I.S.D. after 27 years and was a lifetime member of the PTA. Shirley immensely enjoyed traveling, drawing and ceramics. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Shirley was a volunteer at St. Elizabeth for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, O’Grady F. and Helen B. Fair; her brothers, Arlen L. Fair and Jack Fair.
Shirley is survived by her children, Jackulyn A. Southerland and husband, Randy of Wyalusing, PA, Cynthia Harland and husband, Billie of Vidor, Douglas C. Salisbury of Beaumont, Charles G. Salibury and wife, Angie Arquello of Killeen; grandchildren, William, Tiffany, Charles, Billie, Heather, Freddie and Holly; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Camille, Winston and Peyton; longtime friend, Arlette Collins of Lumberton; and travel friend, Becky Ritter of Beaumont.
Serving as pallbearers will be Freddie Harland, Billie Harland, William Southerland, Douglas Salisbury, and Grady Salisbury.
