Starr Baker Stout, 69, of Vidor was born October 25, 1948 in Beaumont, Texas to the late Grover August and Margaret Ella Starr “Peggy” Baker and passed away December 1, 2017 at her residence in Vidor.
A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Turning Point Church in Vidor with dearest friend and Chaplain Wanda Lane of Heart of Texas Hospice officiating. Interment will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 2:00 p.m. Monday prior to the service.
A resident of Vidor most of her life, Starr graduated from Vidor High School in 1966 and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Lamar University. She retired as a secretary from Modern Manufacturing. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and was the world’s best “Mrs. Claus” during the Christmas season.
She is survived by her children, Dawn and Shannon Durrett of Vidor, Dayn and Sherie Stout of Alexandria, Shantina Warren-Durham of Lumberton; and five grandchildren, Harley Dupree and her fiancé, Scott Fledderjohn of Mauriceville, Chevy Durrett and Shawn Durrett of Vidor, Heather Stout of Lamar University, Beaumont and Lauren Stout of LSU, Baton Rouge.
