STEPHEN ‘STEVIE’ LOUIS JOHNSON (c) 2026
DOB - December 4, 1958
DOD - April 18, 2026
Steve Johnson was larger than life. His sweet spirit and caring heart was evidenced by family and friends who knew him well.
Steve was the youngest child of five children. His mother and father, Grady and Peggy Johnson, were well-known in Orange, Texas where the family lived.
Steve was the brother of Grady David Johnson (deceased), Ronald Lee Johnson, wife Susan Lei (N Padre Island, Corpus Christi, Texas), Eva Elaine Reeder and husband Tom (Fort Worth, Texas), and James Kenneth Johnson, wife Kathy (Little Cypress).
Steve graduated from West Orange High School and had numerous jobs in Orange County.
Both students and parents remember the little blonde-headed kid about ten years old who entertained audiences at the West Orange High School basketball games at intermission. He made baskets they couldn’t believe.
From selling cars to driving a butane truck he was active in the greater Orange area workforce.
Steve worked for his father for a number of years and helped Kenny, his brother, in building Johnson Mini storages in Pinehurst. He achieved a seat on the Pinehurst Texas city council. He ran for mayor of Pinehurst, Texas and lost by only one vote without any advertisements or even waging a campaign.
He was a very well-known bowler in Southeast Texas, too. On one occasion he rolled a perfect 300 score.
He was a faithful Christian both attending a Baptist church and living his strong faith before the people of Southeast Texas.
Steve was loved by numerous
nieces and nephews, and his extended family members.
One of his great quotes was, “LIFE stands for Living In Faith Everyday.”
Steve battled several heath problems including diabetes. In lieu of flowers please make any donations to the American Diabetes Association.
