Stephen Thomas Stanley, 78, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on August 1, 2024, in Galveston, Texas.
A graveside service to honor Stephen’s life and legacy will be held on August 23, 2024, at Haven of Rest in China, Texas, starting at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow.
Born in Beaumont, Texas, on March 13, 1946, he was the son of George and Freda Stanley. For 31 years, Stephen devoted his career to the Texas Department of Human Services, where he made a lasting impact on the lives of many. His commitment to helping others was evident in every aspect of his work. Alongside his career, he proudly served in the United State Army, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to his country. Stephen was not only a loving husband but also a treasured brother. He was a proud member of the Symphony of Southeast Texas, where he showcased his talent playing the bassoon, enriching the lives of those who had the pleasure of listening to him perform. Stephen’s warmth, kindness, and musical talents will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George Stanley, and Freda Stanley; his brothers, George Stanley Jr. and Willis "Bill" Stanley.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Gina Stanley; his sister, Algene Butaud and her husband James; his brother, David E. Stanley; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
