Susan Bounds
Susan Jeanette Bounds, 73, of Orange, passed away on March 28, 2021, at, St. Elizabeth Hospital, in Beaumont.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 1, 2021, at Cooke Memorial Cemetery, in Liberty. Officiating will be Mr. Gary Turnage.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., April 1, 2021, at Claybar Kelly-Watkins in Beaumont.
Born in Atlanta, Texas, on February 9, 1948, she was the daughter of Floyd Coleman and Evelene (Higgs) Gilbert. Susan was a registered nurse at Christus St. Mary’s Hospital on 4SA, where she retired after many years of service. She had an amazing sense of humor and was always ready to make people laugh. Her family was her world, she enjoyed relaxing on the porch, telling stories, and loved tradition. One of her many traditions was giving her boys Hot Wheels every year for Christmas. Some of the many things she enjoyed doing was listening to old music, antiquing, collecting dolls, quilting, and making gifts for her girls. She was very religious and loved her bible, she was a beautiful soul with a servant’s heart, who will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure to know and love her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Coleman and Evelene Gilbert; and numerous Aunts and Uncles that she was very close with.
She is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, John Bounds; children, Scott Jones and wife Tracy, of Lumberton, Chris Jones and wife Sara, of Tomball, Nickie Judice, of Bridge City, Tammra Frederick and husband John, of Mauriceville; brothers, Mitchell Coleman, of Hardin, Keith Coleman, of Houston; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and other loving family members and friends. Also, her service dog and favorite child, Maggie Mae.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Jones, Scott Jones, Preston Jones, Peyton Jones, Christian Wall, and Alexis Wall.
