Born in Orange, Texas, on January 9, 1961, she was the daughter of Adolph Hryhorchuk and Janell Doughty Hryhorchuk. Susan had a vibrant spirit and a great sense of humor that she passed down to her son, Blake. Her love for her family was profound, and she exemplified what it meant to be devoted, always ready to do anything for them. Her profession as an RN was a source of great pride for Susan and her passion for helping people was evident in the many patients she cared for over the years. In her career, Susan worked as an ICU Charge nurse, she worked in home health, and she was also a travel nurse and a prison nurse. An avid traveler, Susan embraced the adventures life offered, creating lasting memories through her journeys. One of her favorite places to travel was the beach. She had a special fondness for hanging out on the porch feeling the ocean breeze and listening to music. She found delight in the simple pleasures, such as enjoying popcorn while watching Netflix and Fox News, as well as indulging in her passion for cooking. Her culinary skills were a source of joy for her family and friends alike. Susan also had a fondness for jewelry, and she would often express her unique personality through her accessories. Susan loved Christmas. Her favorite things to do during the Holidays was decorating her Christmas tree and making her MawMaw’s delicious cornbread dressing. She loved going out to eat, especially at the casino and anywhere there was Mexican or Italian food. Her love for animals, particularly her dog, Bella, reflected her compassionate nature and her capability to nurture those around her. She will be deeply missed, and her legacy of love and laughter will continue through her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Janell Hryhorchuk; her brother, Ken Hryhorchuk; and her nephew, Tyler Hryhorchuk.

She is survived by her son, Blake King and wife, Shellie; her grandchildren, Austin King, and Knox King; her sisters, Phyllis Ford, and husband Darrell, and Cindy Skinner and husband Paul; her sister-in-law, Karen Hryhorchuk; and numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Faraci, Bruce McCormick, Jacob Hryhorchuk, Jeremy Albrecht, Travis Boudreaux and Ryan Skinner. Honorary pallbearers are Ty Ford and Billy Ford.

Susan was very kind to my daughter Devyn and Grandson Rowan. When Rowan would see Bella out he'd run to Ms. Susan's porch to talk. Devyn really cared for Ms. Susan. She will be greatly missed

I loved Susan since childhood. Even during our teenage years it was hit and miss seeing each other but when we did land at Grandma and Papas at the same time we gravitated toward each other and it was like we had never been apart. When I was 17 and she had just turned 18 she gave me her old drivers license so I had a “valid ID”. I didn’t ask- she just brought it to me! Those days were different than now obviously. I used her ID to get into a club where I met my husband who I’ve been married to for 43 years! I don’t know if she ever knew that! I spent some time with her at Ken’s funeral and although she was in such anguish she held onto me and took me around reintroducing me to her son and his family making sure they knew who I was. We spoke a few times after that and it was always hard getting off the phone! She was always easy to instantly reconnect with. We encouraged each other and prayed together. I will never forget it.
