Tena Marie Wyatt Scott, 63, of Orange, passed away on February 22, 2021, in Orange.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Steve Neal. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on October 13, 1957, she was the daughter of Robert “Bob” O. Wyatt, Sr. and Alice Mildred (Holloway) Wyatt. Tena was a diligent worker, having been employed as a waitress for Kaboos Café and a security guard for Delta Downs and Burtons Shipyard. She enjoyed reading and playing games on the computer. Her greatest joy in life were her granddaughters, whom she enjoyed doting on and spoiling rotten. Tena loved going to drag races with the love of her life, Lanny. They spent a wonderful 32 years together, full of laughter, love and commitment. Her happy place was surrounded by her family and friends, and they will spend a lifetime missing her beautiful and kind soul.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Alice Wyatt.
She is survived by her loving husband, Lennis “Lanny” Scott; daughter, Julia Renée Smith and husband Sonny of Orange; sons, Chad Scott and wife Stacey of Groves, and Shawn Scott of Mauriceville; grandchildren, Alice Self and husband Brent of Orange and Chloe Smith of Orange, Tyler Hamm- Cole and Joshua Chandler, both of Groves; great-grandchildren, Eleanor and Aria Self; siblings, Lucy Neel of Hartburg, Robert Wyatt, Jr. of Hartburg, Jessie Wyatt of Deweyville, Calvin Wyatt of Gonzales, Louisiana, and Orville Wyatt of Dallas, Georgia; and sisters-in-law, Elizabeth “Lizzy” Sonnier of Vinton, Louisiana, and Bernice Grimes of Orange; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Serving as pallbearers will be Patrick Bean, Douglas Wyatt, James Wyatt, Tyler Hamm-Cole, Jimmy Bergeron and Jason Guillory.
