Teodoro Gómez Ramirez

Teodoro Gómez Ramirez, 82, of Humble, Texas, passed away on March 26, 2021, at his son’s home in Beaumont, Texas.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 1, 2021, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, Texas. Burial will follow at Haven of Rest Cemetery in Beaumont, Texas.

Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with a recitation of the Rosary at 12:30 p.m., at Claybar Funeral Home.

Born in El Limoncito, Tiquicheo de Nicolás, Mexico, on November 9, 1938, he was the son of Calletano Gómez and Domitila Ramirez. Teodoro enjoyed working as a musician and farmer for many years. He was a smart and hardworking man and took pride in providing for his family, who he loved more than anything. Teodoro was always respectful of everyone and held his head high throughout his life, teaching his children and grandchildren to do the same. He loved music and was an incredibly talented guitar player. He also enjoyed taking long walks and having conversations with everyone he came across. Teodoro was known for being friendly and speaking from his heart. He never met a stranger, and his contagious laugh and positive attitude will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Calletano Gómez and Domitila Ramirez; his son-in-law, Michael Keener; and his siblings, Ramon Gómez, Cecila Gómez, Acencion Gómez, Martina Gómez, Agraciana Gómez, Ana Gómez, and Esteban Gómez.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Tomasa Perez Yañez; his children, Marivel Gómez and husband Luis Sanchez of Lumberton, Ignacio Gómez and wife Laura Rebollar of Bevil Oaks, Blanca Estella Perez and husband Ramon Briseno of Beaunont, Fransisca Gómez Perez and husband Luis Manuel Galvan Mora of Monterrey, Mexico, Josefina Cottle and husband Jesse of Humble, Graciela Gómez Yañez of Beaumont, Maria Elvira Gomez Yañez and husband Joaquin Reyes Nava of Michoacán, Mexico, and Maria Anayeli Gómez Perez and husband Nathaniel S. Keener of Beaumont; his grandchildren, Eden Gaytan, Albert Rodriguez, Mercurio Gómez, David Gómez, Helen Juliette Gómez, Sergio Ignacio Gómez, Antonio Agustin Gonzalez, Alondra Gómez, Paulette Galvan Gómez, Dianne Galvan Gómez, Regina Galvan Gómez, Jair Joaquin Reyes Gómez, Nahomi de Jesus Reyes Gómez, Alexander Jacobo Reyes Gómez, and Luna Tomasa Adelaida Briseno; and his brother, Secundino Gómez.

Serving as pallbearers will be Antonio A. Gonzalez, Albert Rodriguez, Eden Gaytan, Mercurio Gómez, David Gómez, Nathaniel Keener, Jesse Cottle, and Luis Sanchez.
