Thelbert Jefferson Hale
Thelbert J. T.J. Hale, 87 of Beaumont went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 21, 2007. He was born April 28, 1920 in Onalaska, Texas.
He is survived by his daughters, Joan Davis and husband, Troy of Nederland, Janet Brewster of Irving, Vicki McCown and husband Richard of Beaumont; brother R. W. Ray Hale of Lumberton; grandchildren, Deborah and Jefferey Gontarek, Gwendolyn Davis, Charles and Tamra Smith, Greg and Jeannie Smith, and Joanna and Judd Adams; great-grandchildren, Deb Pepper, Alex Louvier, Tyler, Trevor, Courtney, and Codi Smith, and Chance Adams; great-great grandchildren, Mark Blood and Michael Louvier.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Hale; parents John Luther and Hallie Duke Hale; brother John Hale; sisters Barbara Peek, Frances Rush, and Juanita Fehl; great-granddaughter, Tabitha Adams and great-great granddaughter, Madalyn Pepper.
Mr. Hale was retired from Texas U.S. Chemical Co. He was a faithful member of Sabine Tabernacle having served as an elder and on the Executive Board. He and his wife were leaders of the Young People?s League for many years. T. J. loved his family dearly and saw to their needs both physically and spiritually. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2007 at Sabine Tabernacle with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.
