Thelma O. Nation Vercher, 80, of Orange, died Saturday, August 30, 2008, at her residence.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2008, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Reverend Larry Doucet of Miracle Restoration Revivals in Orange will officiate.
Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will be 4:00-9:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Thelma was born November 14, 1927, in Orange to Tom and Clora Furlough Nation.
Thelma was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and past president of Ladies Auxiliary. She was a waitress for over 20 years at the Orange House which started out at Jack Tar.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her husband Tommy L. Vercher, Sr. of Orange; son, Malcolm Gerrish of Orange, daughters, Susan Walkerof Woodville, Nancy Creel of Orange, stepson, Tommy L. Vercher, Jr. of Deweyville and stepdaughters, Roxane Tankersley and Rebecca Marange both of Orange; ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren, sister Sue Donnaud of Orange and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joe D. Vercher, Shaun Lucia, Henry Marange, Jr., Arthur Rabago, Paul LeBouef and Tim Phillips.
