Theolyn Munson Worthey, 80, of Beaumont, finished her course with joy going to meet the Lord Tuesday, September 21, 2010.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 5-8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, at the Sabine Tabernacle Church Pavilion. Reverend Johnny Johnson will be officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Munson, Dale Munson, Randy Dorsey, Scott Hilton, Glenn Worthey and Robert Sutton. Honorary pallbearers will be Alan Worthey, Blake Worthey, James McWilliams, Derek McWilliams, Kyle Worthey and Drew Murphy.
Born October 11, 1929, in Beaumont, Theolyn was a lifelong member of the Sabine Tabernacle Church family. She will be remembered as a devoted Christian, loving wife, nurturing mother and mother-in-law, loving sister, sister-in-law and aunt, and true friend by the many lives she touched.
She graduated from South Park High School and soon began work for Sun Oil Company in the Proration Department. She met and married her husband, Dick and soon began a family. She left Sun Oil when she entered her calling as a mother. Throughout her life, she always put her family ahead of herself, being a help meet to her husband and rearing her children according to the ways of The Lord.
Theolyn is survived by her husband of 57 years, Forrest R. "Dick" Worthey; daughter, Judy Wells and her husband, Jack of Beaumont; son, Richard Worthey of Beaumont; son, Wes Worthey and his wife, Penny of Beaumont; son, Tim Worthey of Beaumont; granddaughter, Carrie Bernard of Beaumont; brother, Eugene Munson of Corpus Christi; brother, Jerry Munson and wife, Glenda of Hamilton; sister, Linda Dorsey of Houston and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theo and Anna Munson.
