Thusnelsda "Mickey" Ellen Stanton

Thusnelda “Mickey” Ellen Stanton, 89, of Silsbee, passed away on February 6, 2022, in Silsbee.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Pastor Sadie Brink. Burial will follow at Dorman Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in San Antonio, Texas, on October 27, 1932, she was the daughter of Joseph Baetz and Elsie (Davis) Baetz. Mickey was a dedicated member of 1st United Methodist Church in Silsbee, and a prior member of of St. Mark’s Luther Church in Bridge City before Hurricane Ike. She devoted her life to charity work through the ministerial alliance in Bridge City and serving as a prayer warrior for all those around her, whether she knew them or not. Her favorite down time was spent crocheting. Mickey was known for her impeccable sense of humor and contagious big laugh. She brought joy wherever she went and was loved by so many. Mickey was the most incredible mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will forever be cherished in the hearts of all who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Elsie Baetz; husband, Billy G. Stanton; and sister, Alma Geyer.

She is survived by her children, Shirley O. Stanton and husband Mike Godfrey of Shepherdstown, Michael L. Stanton and wife Tina of Bridge City and Glenda S. Delano and husband Roray of Silsbee; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Delano, Wesley “Butch” Arabie, Frank Arabie, Gary Sonier, Donnie Stanton and Kevin Keen.
