Timothy Dewayne Schossow, 67, of Bridge City, passed away on November 12, 2020, in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 18, at Faith United Methodist Church at 8608 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Orange. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn in West Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Faith United Methodist Church in Orange.
Born in Monroe, Louisiana, on April 18, 1953, he was the son of Birl Schossow and Muriel (Reid) Schossow. He graduated from West Monroe High School and attended Lamar University after graduation. Tim worked at Total Petrochemical for 47 years and recently retired. He was a God loving man and a devoted member of Faith United Methodist Church in Orange, where he taught Sunday school for many years and was also on the board of trustees. Tim married the love of his life, Ida, in 1985 and they spent 35 memorable years together. He was heavily involved in his community. Tim served on several boards including, the Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce, Orange County Appraisal District, Orange Gun Club, Ducks Unlimited, and the American Red Cross where he served for the past 17 years. He also was a past board member of United Way and a current member of the Orange Lions Club. His family and friends would say Tim was a generous, compassionate, servant hearted, and family man. If you ever needed anything, Tim was always there to help and positively impacted many lives. He had a passion for history, the outdoors, and enjoyed collecting guns. Tim loved hunting, cooking, boating, and traveling in their RV. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, caring dad, humorous uncle, and a best friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Birl and Muriel Schossow; and daughter, Katie Schossow.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Ida Schossow; children, Christie Hicks and Tiffany Sloane; grandchildren, Tanner Flores, Thane Flores, and Riley Montgomery; siblings, Kenneth Schossow and wife Rhonda, Shelia Lumsden; in-laws, Jane Branch and husband Randy, Terry Johnson and wife Holly, Annette Crorey, Ray Johnson and wife Gladys, John Johnson and wife Judi, and Rickey Johnson; nieces and nephews that he considered his own, Katherine Dean and husband Clark, Avah Helton and husband Ty, Wes Johnson and wife Mary Ann, Misty Bellow and husband Ricky, Tracie Parzen and husband Jeremy, Billy Crorey, Lesli Johnson, Mark Crorey and wife Jesica, Jarrod Johnson, Josh Johnson, Alexis Johnson, Grant Johnson, Rebekah May, and Daniel Schossow; great nieces and nephews, Ashley Biggers, Amber and Tori Helton, Macey and Maley Johnson, Emilee, Brady, and Tobey Bellow, Georgia and Lila Parzen, Luke and Jobe Crorey, and Bailey, Ashlynn, and Dakota Crorey; and best friends, who were loved as family, John, Glynis, Hunter, Forrest Gothia, and Lacey LeMoine.
Serving as pallbearers will be Wesley Johnson, Ricky Bellow, Mark Crorey, Jarrod Johnson, Clark Dean, Josh Johnson, Brady Bellow, Grant Johnson, Hunter Gothia, and Forrest Gothia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Faith United Methodist Church.
