Travis proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where he served as a Men’s Sunday School teacher and many other capacities as long as his health allowed. He was a long time resident of Lufkin after moving there at a young age. Travis graduated from Lufkin High School and went on to work for the Texas Highway Department. When he moved to Orange he began working for Betz Laboratories where he retired from in 2013 after 33 loyal years. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

My dearist sympathy to the family of Travis Allen. Although I don't personally know most of the family, my heart hurt at hearing of the loss of Travis. I didn't have the opportunity to meet him but I have heard stories from his brother and sisters and know how much he was loved by family. I do know that I have missed out on getting to know a fine person. For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. Romans 14:8 Jim & Monica Clingman
