Vera “Dani” Dan Watson
Vera “Dani” Dan Watson, 90, of Lumberton, Texas, passed away on October 10, 2018, in Beaumont, Texas.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Guedry Cemetery in Batson, Texas. Officiating will be George and Jerry Barron.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, Texas.
Born in Rockwall, Texas, on November 24, 1927, she was the daughter of Gilbert “Bud” Leon Cade and Abbie “Miss Abbie” Dees. Dani was a member of Community Christian Church in Orange. She spent many years working as a secretary at Firestone and Phillips before retiring. Dani was a fantastic cook and even won many cooking contests. She was a very talented self-taught artist who enjoyed painting, drawing, woodworking, stained-glass, sewing, and poetry. She loved her family dearly and will be missed by all who came to know and love her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Forrest Watson; sons, Tommy May Watson and Keith Watson; grandson, Todd Cross; and her siblings, Abbie Dees Endacott and Gil Cade.
Dani is survived by her children, Bridget Obannion and husband Drake, of Lumberton and John Watson, of Seabrook; grandchildren, Taylor Watson, Wesley Watson and wife Emily and Michele Cross; 7 great-grandchildren; and her good friends, Jerry and Dot.
