Victoria Vela, 22, of Orange, Texas, passed away on June 23, 2025, in San Felipe, Guanajuato, Mexico.
A Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Orange, Texas. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Orange, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 4, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, Texas, with a Rosary service taking place at 6:00 p.m.
Born in Beaumont, Texas, on October 24, 2002, she was the beloved daughter of Hector Vela and Maria Vela Ibarra. Victoria was a recent graduate of Lamar State College Orange, Class of 2024, graduating with honors and earning President's List recognition as a Dental Assistant. She was employed at North Early Learning Center in Orange, Texas, where she was able to fulfill her childhood dream of becoming a teacher. She fell in love with helping children thrive in the learning process during her time at the center. Just two weeks before her passing, she had accepted a full-time teacher's aide position at North Early Learning Center.
In addition to her work at the center, Victoria also ran her own small business, which she called Vick's Vinyls & Designs. Her creative business included flower bouquets, shadow boxes, gift boxes, custom cups, and much more.
Those left to cherish her memory include her adoring parents, Hector Vela and Maria Vela Ibarra; her older brother, Ricardo Vela of Orange, Texas; her eldest brother, Hector Vela, and his wife, Lluvia Flores Vela of Dallas, Texas; her beloved dog, Cookie; and many extended family members and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be her uncles: Ivan Vela, Miguel Vela, Emanuel Vela, and Alejandro Vela; her brothers: Hector Vela and Ricardo Vela; and her cousins: Ivan Vela and Santiago Vela.

Le sobreviven sus amorosos padres, Héctor Vela y María Vela Ibarra; su hermano mayor, Ricardo Vela, de Orange, Texas; su hermano mayor, Héctor Vela, y su esposa, Lluvia Flores Vela, de Dallas, Texas; su querida perrita, Cookie; y muchos familiares y amigos.
