Virginia A. McDaniel

September 12, 1925 — January 29, 2009

Long time business woman, Virginia A. McDaniel, passed away peacefully into the hands of her Lord and Savior with her daughter Madelyn and beloved dogs, Lucky and Buddy, at her side January 29, 2009 at the age of 83.
A native of Beaumont, Virginia attended St. Anthony Catholic School, Lamar College, and was owner of Century Studio for 30 years. After retiring as a professional photographer, she continued working with her real estate properties in the Beaumont area until her death
She never met a stranger, always had a smile, and was loved by her many friends and family. She enjoyed dancing at the Pompono Club for many years and was a contestant in the Miss Beaumont Beauty Pageant in 1945. She always loved to celebrate every holiday with family and friends. Some called her Ginny, Ms. Ginny, Honey, Ganny, and to her children, she was Mama. She was a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Frances Cascio, her husband, Gordon McDaniel, Five sisters, and two brothers. Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Madelyn Jane Elizondo and Melany Maxwell-Keys, and, son, Mark, McDaniel, all of Beaumont; grandchildren, David Maxwell and wife, Christine, of Austin, Jana McDaniel of Richmond, VA and Tory Keys of Beaumont
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 2, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend H.W. McDaniel officiating and burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery. A gathering of friends and family will be held Sunday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Rick Short, Rick Romero, John Cascio, Tommy Hopper, David Maxwell, and Jeff Howard.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Ronald Palang and staff at Beaumont Adult Medicine for the loving care, kindness, and support that you gave to our mother over the past nine years. Also to the doctors, nurses and staff at Christus St. Elizabeth and Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospitals, Malley's Pharmacy, and Hospice of Texas. To all our friends and family for your prayers during this time of sorrow, "Thank You".
