Virginia Davis Condon

July 29, 1926 — June 8, 2015

Virginia “Jenny” Davis Condon, of Beaumont, rejoiced on June 8, 2015, when she finally received the message from dad that it was time for her to make her latest adventure to join him in heaven. Married 58 years before his last journey, he had gone ahead, over six years ago, to make all the arrangements with our heavenly father. I know she has waited patiently, but with much anticipation, for this great reuniting adventure. This is just one more trip they will want to share with family and friends when we come together again.

Virginia was born in Dallas, Texas, July 29, 1926 to Nanie Jack and Jim Davis, and at a young age moved to Beaumont where she grew up in South Park for a time. Eventually the family relocated to just west of the Beaumont city limits, where she lived till marrying Joseph “Jay” B Condon Sr. on April 17, 1950. Upon returning from their first journey, as husband and wife, they moved into their new house that had just been built by family. Within five years they start their family with a daughter, Drusilla K Condon, and just a little over two years their next addition a son, Joseph B Condon II. Virginia and Jay shared their love for travel with their children with many weekends and summers traveling the States.

During the 60’s after the children entered school, Virginia started a new career as a Doll Doctor. Her skills of sewing and working with crafts enhanced her abilities at restoring and dressing vintage dolls. These passions lead to the opening of Mi Lady’s Doll World and eventually Hobbyville. For over 40 years she has touched many children’s and adult’s life with joy, bringing life back into broken and forgotten dolls. Along with her love of dolls, the desire to fulfill other’s passions lead to the expansion of her business to carry toys, trains and planes for all ages. Her loving personality helped kindle many a friendships, from adults to the children, who grew up to become parents themselves. We are sure all the heavenly dolls needing a loving touch or repaired have been collecting waiting her arrival.

Virginia’s children Drusilla Kuhner and husband Heinz, and Joe B Condina II and his wife Denise have stayed behind to continue the family care and celebrate their parent’s lives. Four grandchildren Kristy Retana and husband Duval, Joseph Condon III, Lauren Kuhner, and Tara Kuhner all join in the celebration of her life. We all anticipate the day we can join them on the latest adventure.

Going ahead of Virginia to prepare her arrival are her husband Joseph “Jay” B Condon Sr, grandson Erik Kuhner, parents Nanie Jack and Jim Davis, and two sisters Elizabeth “Sissy” Parker and Cora DiGeorge along with a multitude of other family and friends.

Assisting with her final transportation are, Joseph Condon III, Ricky Davis, Frankie DiGeorge, David DiGeorge, Jarrell Perricone, and Ronnie Strong.

A gathering of friends and family will begin at 5:00 pm, with a rosary at 7:00 pm on Friday, June 12 at Claybar Kelley-Watkins in Beaumont.

A mass of Christian burial will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, June 13th at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Beaumont. Officiating will be Deacon Pat Ritchie and Father Jack Leighton. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont.
