Virginia Louise Watson, 83 of Bridge City, passed away on October 10, 2020, at her brother’s home in Stafford, Texas.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 15, at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in Orange. Officiating will be Pastor Keith Giblin.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Indiana, on September 22, 1937, she was the daughter of Elmer Ruhnow and Helen (Jaeger) Ruhnow. Virginia spent many years as a teacher’s aide and Title One tutor at Vinton Elementary. She fell in love with Thomas “Tom” Watson whom she married in 1978 and they spent 42 wonderful years together. She was an avid reader and was a very creative artist and painter who loved making crafts. Virginia was an animal lover and adored her cats. She was a devout Christian and was very active in helping the Thrift and Gift Shop. Virginia left an impact on many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Helen Ruhnow.
She is survived by the love of her life, Tom Watson; daughter, Leslie Venable of St. Peters, Missouri; grandchildren, Nicky, Chris, and Josh Venable; siblings, Phillip Ruhnow, Ruth Shoenbeck, Linda Ruhnow, and Michael Ruhnow; sister in laws, Paula Amsden and Rita Hicks; and many nieces and nephews.
