Virginia White, 86, of Sour Lake, Texas, passed away on December 31, 2017, in Spring, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 5, 2018, at First Baptist Church in Sour Lake with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow the service at Pine Ridge Cemetery at Pine Ridge Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, at Claybar Kelley Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont, Texas.
Born in Highlands, Texas, on February 19, 1931, she was the daughter of Paul and Johnnie Herrington. Virginia graduated from Sour Lake High School and went on to get a business degree from USL in Lafayette, Louisiana. She raised her family in Lafayette before moving back to her home town of Sour Lake that she loved so much. Virginia was very artistic and enjoyed spending time cooking. She loved going to First Baptist Church in Sour Lake. Virginia will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Johnnie Herrington; husband and father of her children, Edmund Gale; husbands, Gilbert Ellison and Bill White; and her sister, Bevil Carter.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Stephen Gale and wife Cathie, of Spring, Paula Pyles and husband Gordon, of Sour Lake, and Linda Biggers and husband Homer, of Pensacola; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Milton and Wayne Herrington; and numerous niece and nephews.
