Viva Carver Owen, 74, died April 16, 2007, at Baptist Memorial Herman Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2007, at Fellowship Church of Christ in Orange. A Graveside Service will follow at 2:30 at Welcome Cemetery in Simpson, LA. Officiating will be Tommy Gore pastor of Fellowship Church of Christ.
Visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Port Arthur, August 3, 1932, to J.D. and Viva Mae Parker Carver.
Mrs. Owen moved to Mauriceville in 1975. She was a charter member of Fellowship Church of Christ and a DuPont pensioner with 29 years of service.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Alton, son Coleman Roddy of Port Neches, TX; daughter and her husband, Johanna and Bob Taggart of Fort Worth, TX, and son and his wife, Todd and Debbie Owen of Albuquerque, NM; seven grandchildren: Logan, Ross, Josh, Coleman Gene, Chelsea, Rebecca and Kyle; one brother and his wife Myles and Debbie Carver of Kingwood; nephew and niece, William and Kimberly, and two uncles, Arthur Lynn Carver and wife, Janie of Alabama and Roy Temple of Port Arthur, TX.
The family suggests Memorial Contributions be made to the Building Fund of Fellowship Church of Christ, 3800 MLK, Orange, TX, 77632.
