Vivian C. Peveto, 93, lifelong resident of Orange, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2007 in Orange.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday December 19, 2007 at Old First Orange Baptist Church. Officiating will be Reverend Bailey Harris and Reverend Bobby Spross.
Interment will follow at Bland Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Vivian was born July, 12, 1914 in Orange to Harvey S. and Berta Mosier Block. She was a cafeteria manager at McLewis School for 31 years. She was an active member of the Old First Orange Baptist Church, where she attended the Ruth Sunday School class and the Singing 60?s. She was also lovingly known as the ?Snow Cone Lady? at vacation Bible School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Rufus L. Peveto, brother, Francis Block and half brother, Ray Block.
Vivian is survived by her sons Lonnie Peveto and wife Earnestine of Orange, Charles Ray ?Skipper? Peveto of Orange, daughter, Berta Winnona Peveto of Houston and son Gene A. Peveto and wife, Martha of Kirbyville.
Also surviving Vivian are her grandchildren, Amber Morgan, Misty Moody, Angela Peveto, Elizabeth Peveto, Melissa Renee Chomel, Jody Scott Peveto, Vivan Jane Schmookler, Ramona Joyce Gravett, Michelle Sedtal, Sara Hover, Tad LeBlanc, 13 great-grandchildren and twins on the way, sister, Ruby Joyce Largent of Pueblo, CO and sister-in-law, Betty Block of California.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Reese, Archie Jones, Ronnie McKay, Horton McCabe and the Deacons of the Church.
