Vivian Dorman, 78, of Orange, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2009, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be her cousin, Pastor David Logan of Word of Life Center in Groves.
Burial will follow at Dorman Family Cemetery in McLewis Community.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
Vivian was born on March 3, 1931, in Sulphur, Louisiana. She was the daughter of Alton Joseph Broussard and Loney Doiron Broussard. Vivian was the credit union manager for Orange County Employees Credit Union where she worked for 23 years at the time of her retirement. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church Mauriceville.
Vivian was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who had a unique zest for life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Loney Broussard; husband, Jack Dorman in 2002; brothers, A.J. Broussard, Donnie Broussard, Louis Dugas, Jr.; and sister-in-laws, Mary Little, Octavia Juneau Bea Welch, Deannie Gray and Ora Dee Welch.
Vivian is survived by her daughter, Donna Jean Scales and her husband Jimmy of Bridge City; sons, Johnny Dorman and his wife Connie and Larry Dale Dorman both of McLewis, Texas; five grandchildren, Jackie Scales, Brandon Dorman and his wife Wendy, Craig Dorman, James Scales and Jerrid Scales; and great-grandchildren, Carley Dorman, Colin Dale Dorman and Cooper Dorman.
She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Preston Conway of Orange; brother, Richard Broussard of Buna; sisters-in-law, Patsy Allbright of Orange, Faye Peveto of McLewis Community and Eva Dorman of Orange; and brothers-in-law, Earl Dorman, J.B. Gray both of McLewis and Odis Welch of Austin.
Serving as Pallbearers will be James Scales, Jerrid Scales, Chipper Nance, Brandon Dorman, Craig Dorman, Tommy Ladner, Reb Broussard and Bobby Solis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Colin Dale Dorman, Cooper Dorman, Lannis Whittington, all her nieces and nephews and past and present co-workers of the Orange County Courthouse.
Her family would like to say thank you for all who cared for her especially her extended family who so lovingly cared for her throughout her illness. They also would like to extend their gratitude for the exceptional care given to her by Dr. Steven Mazzola, staff at Baptist Hospital Orange, Harbor Hospice in Beaumont and M.D. Anderson in Houston.
