Vivian Lucille Williams

Vivian Lucille Williams, 92, died October 14, 2008, in Orange, Texas . Services will be Friday October 17, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at Claybar Funeral Home. Claybar Funeral Home is temporarily located at 1408 W Park in the Park Avenue Methodist Church . Reverend Barry Bradley of the First Baptist Church in Orange will officiate. Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Garden Cemetery near Bridge City .

Visitation will be Thursday, October 16, 2008, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Claybar Funeral Home in Orange .

Mrs. Williams lived in West Orange since 1944 and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Orange where she taught Sunday School to seven and eight year old girls for about 30 years. At First Baptist, she and others started the first clothes closet for needy people in Orange , and then other churches started to donate their clothes. She volunteered in nursing homes for many years and visited weekly and also visited sick and shut-in church members weekly. Lucille enjoyed playing 42 dominoes with her friends and was a life member of the PTA.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, William Howard Williams and seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter. Emma Ann Longlois and her husband, J.D. of Orange; two grandchildren , William Keith Longlois and wife Cyndi and Jeffery Dwayne Longlois and his wife Tricia all of Orange; four great-grandchildren, Jessica Rose, Julianne Danielle, Chrisleigh Nicole and Jacob Dylan Longlois.

The family would like to thank the caring staffs at Sabine House, Calder Woods and the Odyssey Health Care. Also a special thanks to Christy Frazier and her devoted workers at Cherished Years. Your love and concern for Mother these last three years is greatly appreciated and will always be remembered.
