Vivian Lee Sedtal, 62, of Port Arthur, Texas, passed away on February 28, 2025, in Port Arthur.
Born in Fort Worth , Texas, on August 29, 1962, she was the daughter of John Lester Tyson and Ruby Mae Soares Tyson. Vivian dedicated her life to caring for others, particularly through her long and fulfilling career as a nurse in Home Health. Her compassionate nature and commitment to helping those in need left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. A devoted member of Well of Hope Christian Fellowship, Vivian held her faith close to her heart. She loved the Lord, and her spiritual beliefs fortified her dedication to caregiving, as she embodied the principles of love and kindness in her daily interactions. Vivian was affectionately known as "Maw Maw V" to her beloved grandchildren, who cherished their time spent with her. She was a loving caregiver not just within her family but also to all living creatures, demonstrating a profound love for animals throughout her life. Vivian found joy in many activities, from fishing on serene weekends to playing her favorite video games, which offered her a chance to bond with family and friends. Her legacy is one of love, care, and unwavering support for all. Vivian will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to be a part of her life.
She is preceded in death by her father, John Tyson; her son, James Lee Sedtal; and the father of her children, Harry Sedtal.
She is survived by her mother, Ruby Tyson; her son, Troy Sedtal and wife, Shelby, of Houston; her grandchildren, Aria Sedtal and Troy Sedtal; her sister, Anna Francis; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
