Vol Hollie Bailey, 73, passed away on November 18, 2007 at his home in Little Cypress after his battle with pancreatic cancer.
A visitation will be held at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange on Tuesday evening at 5:00 PM. The funeral will be at Claybar on Wednesday at 10:00 AM followed by a memorial service at 2:30 PM at Big Sandy Community Church in Dallardsville. Internment will follow in Big Sandy Cemetery.
Vol was born in Polk County to Hollie and Frances Bailey, on January 9, 1934. He was one of nine children in a loving family. He was a devoted husband to his wife Deniece whom 52 years to the date of his passing, asked her to be his bride. He was also a loving father to his three daughters, Athena, Felecia and Melissa.
Vol was a faithful member of Little Cypress Baptist Church. His strong faith guided him through good times and hard times. He impacted hosts of people with his loving acceptance.
His winning smile drew people to him, and his congenial manner demonstrated he never met a stranger. He enjoyed sports and attended as many of his grandchildren?s events as he could. He retired from Inland Orange after 31 years of dedicated service.
He will be sorely missed by his faithful wife, Deniece; his children: Athena and Tommy Walker, Felecia and Lane Eaton, and Melissa Fuqua; his grandchildren: Thomas and Ashlye Walker, David and Ashley Walker, Rebecka Walker, Elizabeth Walker, Luke and Lauren Eaton, Paul Eaton, Kyle Eaton and Jared Fuqua; his great-grandson: Ely Walker; his brothers: L.E. Bailey, T.A. Buck Bailey his sisters: Hazel Milliken, Maudine Anderson, and twin sister, Violet Bailey as well as many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Pearl O?Neal and Bernice Watson.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Little Cypress Baptist Church Building Fund, 3274 Little Cypress Drive, Orange, Texas 77632.
