Charles E. Waddell, 84, of Orange, died Wednesday, May 30, 2007.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 2, 2007, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange. Reverend Joseph P. Daleo will be officiating.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Friday, with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Deacon Harvey Dubois of St. Mary Catholic Church will officiate.
Mr. Waddell was born June 15, 1922, in Village Mills, TX, to Mamie and Jake Waddell.
Mr. Waddell retired after 28 years of employment with DuPont Sabine Riverworks in Orange, where he worked as a maintenance mechanic. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Waddell was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He was a devoted family man. He enjoyed life and cherished every moment spent with his family and friends. He died at home surrounded by his loving family and will be missed greatly by everyone who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Francis Gallien Waddell in 1998, his brother, James Waddell and his parents, Mamie and Jake Waddell.
He is survived by his daughter, Martha Foley and husband Brian of Orange, special niece Sue Ferguson and husband Wayne of Orange, grandchildren, Kyle Romero, Chaz Romero, Katie Foley and Mack Foley and sister, Marie Johnson of Lumberton.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Foley, Wayne Ferguson, Kyle Romero, Chaz Romero, Chris Ferguson and Chad Andreu.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be his nieces and nephews.
