Waid C. Dunn, 92, of Orange, Texas, passed away on December 14, 2017, in Beaumont, Texas.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, December 18, 2017 at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Jerry Redkey of Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Silsbee. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens in Nederland.
Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m., Monday, December 18, 2017 at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Born in Louisiana, on April 5, 1925, he was the son of James W. Dunn and Ruby C. (Harrison) Dunn. Waid served his country in the United States Army and later worked at Texaco until retiring after 37 years. Waid was a very hard worker and enjoyed being able to provide for his family. He was a member of Katy Baptist Church in Colmesneil. Waid enjoyed fishing, building things and fixing things. He was a very kind and compassionate man who loved God very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruby Dunn; three brothers; and one sister.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Imogene Dunn of Orange; son, Dale Dunn and wife Pam of Fred; daughter, Beverly Whittington and husband Charles of Bridge City; grandchildren, Angie Hunt, Duane Whittington, Laurie Gambrell, Joey Dunn, Hunter Harper, and Tasha Werner; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joey Dunn, Ethan Dunn, Duane Whittington, Jack Hunt, Roger Williams, and Steve Swearingen. Honorary pallbearer will be Billy Wayne Gallendar.
