Walter L. "Puggy" Delcambre, Jr., 71, of Bridge City, died May 4, 2010, at his residence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 7th, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.
Visitation will begin Thursday at 5:00 p.m. followed by the praying of the rosary at 6:00 p.m., both to be held at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Born in Jefferson Island, Louisiana on April 3, 1939, he was the son of Marion Boswell Delcambre Etzold and Walter L. Delcambre, Sr.
Mr. Delcambre was a U.S. Navy veteran, and retired from Firestone in Orange where he was an operator.
He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and was a 3rd Degree Knight in the Bridge City Council of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Delcambre of Bridge City; step mother, Edia Delcambre of Port Neches; daughters, Terri Delcambre, Renee Newsom and her husband, Dan, all of Bridge City; grandchildren, SPC Jeffery Gibbs and his wife, Shacail, of Fort Bragg; Bree Newsom and Cale Newsom, both of Bridge City; and great granddaughter, Shayleigh Gibbs.
Also surviving are his brothers and sisters, Ronald Delcambre of Bridge City, Sylvia McDuffie and Robert Delcambre, both of Nederland, Marie West of Port Neches, Robert L. Etzold of Anniston, Alabama, William Etzold and Ernest Etzold, III, both of Gulfport, Mississippi and Beth LeFever of Longview.
Pallbearers will be SPC Jeffery Gibbs, Jeffrey Delcambre, Dan Newsom, Robert Etzold, Ronald Delcambre, Gary West.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Hebert, Jerry Nicks, David McDuffie, Ray LeLeux, William Hasting, Robert Delcambre and Willard Burton.
