Obituary

Wanda Louise Picard
Wanda Louise Picard, 81, of Orange, Texas, passed away on April 20, 2021, in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 25, 2021, at Old First Orange Baptist Church in Orange, TX. Officiating will be Pastor Keith Meyer. Burial will follow at Autumn Oaks in Orange, TX.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, TX.

Born in Texarkana, Arkansas, on December 17, 1939, she was the daughter of William Wallace Jones and Juanita Lucille (Brock) Jones. Wanda graduated from Lutcher Stark High School in 1958. She was a secretary at Gulf States and later moved to help her congregation by working at the Old First Orange Baptist Church as a financial secretary. She was very involved within her church always willing to lend a helping hand. Along with her church her family was her constant, she was a loving mother, grandmother and even great-grandmother that always enjoyed spending time with loved ones. Wanda will with be dearly miss by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clarence C. Picard; parents, William Wallace Jones and Juanita Lucille (Brock) Jones; nephew, Billy Honeycutt; and niece, Adrienne Jones.

She is survived by her sons, Dean Picard of Orange, TX and Daniel Picard of Orange, TX; grandchild, Zac Picard and wife Laura of Lake Charles, LA; great-grandchildren, Liza Jane Picard of Lake Charles, LA and Charlie Picard of Lake Charles, LA; sisters, Sharon Honeycutt of Orange, TX, Nina Aven and husband Bob of Orange, TX, Janell Horton and husband James of Buna, TX, and Betty Jones Frick and husband Jimmy of Hemphill, TX; brother, Royce Jones and wife Barbara of Bridge City, TX.

Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Old First Orange Baptist Church in her name.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the compassionate team of caregivers at St. Elizabeth Hospital as well as Harbor Hospice.
