Wayne Lawrence Granger, Sr., 70, of West Orange, died Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at his residence.
A Graveside Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 14, 2007, at Nibletts Bluff Cemetery in Vinton, LA. Reverend David Berkheimer of Community Church in Orange will be officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday, 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Mr. Granger was born July 7, 1936, in Orange to John Leon and Martha Melvina Pinder Granger.
He was a lifelong resident of the West Orange Community where he attended Community Church in Orange. He was a retired Tug Boat Captain for Hard Marine in Houston and an avid fisherman. He had a way about him that made people laugh. After retirement he and his wife lived in Arkansas and Missouri for
a short time and were looking forward to being able to travel again.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Martha Granger, brothers, Kenneth Granger and Johnny Granger and sister Betty White all formerly of Orange.
He is survived by his wife Bevelyn Granger of West Orange; sons and daughters, Wayne Lawrence Granger, Jr. of Orangefield, TX, Lawrence Wade Granger of Bridge City, TX, Pam Fruge of Austin, TX, Barbara Granger of Marlin, TX and Sabrina Granger of Orange, TX and stepsons Gary Duplantis of Grand Junction, CO, Chris Duplantis of Kirbyville, TX, Steve Duplantis of Groves, TX, Tim Duplantis of Angleton, TX; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
